Happy New Year people! *insert cheers and applause and loud firecrackers here*
Ok, so we’re back. Another year, another day, and another new post. And this one is courtesy WordPress, who very sweetly sent in this summary of sorts to all. And then I saw it posted at a lot of places, and I was all impressed. Wow, so much effort. Save the pictures. Copy the text. Load the pictures. Adjust the positioning. Actually, too much effort. So I gave up.
Then, I ran out of ideas for a new year post, and it is already the 4th, so I finally gave in. That is when I saw that very friendly “Post to your blog” button in the mail. Perfect.
So here it is, this year on WordPress, which incidentally is the blog’s first year on WordPress. Of course, with my comments, you think I would something as-is?
The stats helper monkeys at WordPress.com mulled over how this blog did in 2010, and here’s a high level summary of its overall blog health: <Thank you, dear monkeys, I am obliged>
The Blog-Health-o-Meter™ reads Wow. <Mine, and everyone else’s? Ah, well, one should not be too cynical. Thank you, again!>
About 3 million people visit the Taj Mahal every year. This blog was viewed about 25,000 times in 2010. If it were the Taj Mahal, it would take about 3 days for that many people to see it. <I like the analogy. I mean, The Taj Mahal. That’s a grand way to put it!>
In 2010, there were 54 new posts, growing the total archive of this blog to 282 posts. There were 96 pictures uploaded, taking up a total of 14mb. That’s about 2 pictures per week. <I thought it was 55. Damn! Anyhow, I have no clue what 96 pictures they are referring to. I hardly upload any, no?>
The busiest day of the year was October 28th with 256 views. The most popular post that day was The one with all the Appreciation. <Wow. Optimism does pay after all. That was my most positive post ever, and look how much popularity it got me. *Sniff* Ooh, and look at the picture they sent. My pretty pretty map. I am actually very happy about that. That’s my favorite piece of work, like, ever.>
Where did they come from?
The top referring sites in 2010 were labnol.org, *beep*.livejournal.com, snippetsnscribbles.wordpress.com, smartassbride.wordpress.com, and My Comments. <Pah. People still come here from the old blog. Anyhow, I have long ago given up on the anonymity drama, so it’s ok I guess. And a special thanks to Abi and SnS!>
Some visitors came searching, mostly for foreverinbluejeans wordpress, colin mochrie hyderabad, foreverinbluejeans.wordpress.com, foreverinbluejeans, and foreverinbluejeans.wordpress. <This is ok. So other than Colin Mochrie who got me quite some traffic, people are pretty much coming in search of the blog itself. Which is cool, but I still don’t understand the need to google the url, instead of typing it on the address bar by itself. Someone care to explain?>
Attractions in 2010

<Yay! This again is very nice to know! And I think the last two were the maximum comments ever too? So the blog is very happy and says Thank you. And I am very happy and say Thank you too.>
Hope you all are very happy too. 2011, as those of you who are on my Facebook list would already no, gives me a very nice feeling. A sort of warm feeling. Like the way I feel right now, as the very pleasant sunrays fall upon from me the large windows I face. I hope this is what the year promises to bring, and succeeds in bringing about as well. Warmth, light, cheer, and contentment.
