The Number Game

*Curtain Rises*

One – more day and the Weekend is here. I love Thursdays, sometimes, a little more than Fridays I think. The fun is in the anticipation, looks like. Of course, Thursdays are even more often when you have/take Friday off. Then, it is like a ‘Brazilian Love Song’. No I am not being corny, bah. That is the name of this awesome Sundae you get at Melting moments. One scoop chocolate, one scoop coffee icecream, with a generous helping of sprinkles and chocolate sauce and what not. Some combination. Just like a Thursday which is actually a Friday.

Two – hours before I get to see little Zo. Who by the way does not seem to want anyone else when I am around * Proud Mommy moment*.However, let me tell you that the same cannot be said about ‘things’ though. The TV, newspaper, the towels, and food, everything else seems to take precedence over Mumma *Proud Mommy moment ends*.

Three – as per me is a very very silly movie. I’ve only heard the story, but I do not get why Tamizh movies have to be so sadistic. I mean, seriously, someone has to die is it? In some cases toh I feel it’s like ok, let me write a story, any story, and then I will write the names of the 3-4 main characters on chits, and pick lots, and Bam! Kill the one picked! Not cool, I must say. The worst of the lot I have seen was ‘7G Rainbow Colony’. Seriously, the climax of that movie gave the term obnoxious a whole new level.

Four – months since I saw my last movie in the movie hall. I know, I left my ickle 2 month old and went for a movie. And I was so proud of us that we managed to do that. Now, that it is much easier to go out, we don’t do it anymore. I hate it that I have missed so many movies that I really wanted to see. So I am pre-booking Ishaqzaade and we are watching it, come what may. Before someone comments on my sad taste for a come-back movie, let me tell you that the last Hindi movie I saw in a movie hall was ZNMD. Yes, go ahead, feel sorry for me. So I get to do this.

Five – is supposed to be my lucky number. You know , because my birth date is the 23rd, so 2+3=5. Actually going by that, it is the same for Zo (14th) and my Mom (also 14th) and my Dad (5th). However, my real lucky number I think is 11. Actually, it is more of a favorite number than lucky number, and I do not have a reason for it. It just sounds like a nice number.

Six – is my shoe size. Well, for most brands that is. For some it is five. Which is why I find it extremely difficult to buy shoes online. There is a 50% chance of them not fitting me well. Also, my only online purchase in the past (by which I mean stuff which I did not order from Flipkart), was a disaster. So I think I will stick to shopping at sales. Online shopping doesn’t seem to be my thing. Oh, which reminds me, I need to order a Booklight, a phone cover and earphones online. Or you can take it as a hint and gift any one/two/all to me. See, I am subtle like that.

Seven – minutes have passed since I wrote the last point and I couldn’t think of anything to write for this one. So I waited the 7 minutes, and then I am typing out this balderdash. I like that word by the way, Balderdash, I read it in Harry Potter I think. I miss Harry Potter , wish there was more, you know to look forward to, seven books were just not enough! Ooh, and there comes the ‘seven’ connection, which I swear, was purely coincidental.

Eight – years today, since I started this blog. There. Now you know why I am doing this post in the first place! Pah, how much one has to struggle to make the post ‘different’. Just so you know, I was going to say ‘interesting’ but I did not want to assume. Heh. Everything’s out here. There are no deleted blogs, old locked blogs, anonymous blogs from the past. It’s just this. All of it, right here. So yes, we have actually managed to complete 8 long long years of spewing irrelevant, incoherent and utter balderdash (that’s thrice, I know, what to do, I love the word!) on this amazing World Wide Web. We thank you for being such patient audience. We really do. *Takes a Bow*

Exit.

*Curtain Falls*

*Peeping from behind the curtain* Don’t go anywhere, we’re still very much around!

    4) Even I saw ZNMD in the theatre *Proud look* and that was after about 2 years..before that I saw 3 Idiots in the theatre..so go ahead and watch the latest okie šŸ™‚

    3) Errr…isnt this the kolaveri di wala movie? I find most Tamizh movies weird..and I dont even watch too much of them..the Tamizh is too tough!

    1) LOL on liking Thursdays more…I loved the description of that icecream by the way sllluuurrrpppp!

    1. šŸ˜€ Awwww, I love point by point comments! For that, I will treat you to that wonderful concoction of an icecream when you’re here! šŸ˜€

  2. Fun post. I like how ‘different’ it is. Mint’s fav number is 5 too. Cos he’s born on the 23rd of May. So 2+3=5, also May is the 5th month. By that logic, my fav number is 4.

How come you get to see zo in 2 hours? Half day? Or you go home during lunch to see her?

    1. I go home for lunch šŸ™‚ Hers and mine! Managed to do that for the past 2 and a half months, and that makes me feel so much better šŸ™‚
      And thanks! šŸ˜€

  3. I wish I were as optimistic about Thursdays as you! I like Thursdays only because I think that maybe Thursdays are my lucky days. I don’t know…

You completed 8 years of blogging? Oh my! You are like blog world’s senior citizen šŸ˜›
Just kidding darl! Congrats and here’s to 88 more šŸ˜€

Ps: Any tips for us bacchu bloggers?

    1. I used to think Tuesdays are lucky days, becos I was born on one, but now I hate them becos they are like right next to the Monday!
And yeah yeah, senior citizen I am alright! Though , going by the number of posts you would think I had a lazy lazy life, er, blog life šŸ˜‰ nothing much ‘happening’!
Thanks a tonne, will give ya bachchas a lot of gyan, let me try and put a post around that now!

  4. EIGHT YEARS to blogging WOW.. oh my god this is awesome .. but but there is something more awesome then this tooo .. point 2 .. The ZO baby moment awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww šŸ™‚

four months since last movie , Oh my and I thought I had it tough šŸ™‚

    1. Thanks a lot šŸ™‚ So I have to comment about the food part, whenever The Dude has a bad day at work he calls home to find out whats for dinner, if it’s meat, well he feels better immediately! So you’re not alone šŸ™‚

  5. 8 years – how cool is that; and here I was feeling upbeat abt running a blog for the past 1 1/2 years – let the sizzle not fizzle (duh – my attempt to make the comment different (???) BTW,i quite loved ZNMD and look forward to Ishakzaade , so that makes u no odd man out ! R.O.C.K. ON !

    1. Haha! Thanks a lot! šŸ™‚ The reassurance on the movie pick was also very helpful šŸ˜€ And yep, the comment totally sizzled šŸ˜‰

  6. Wowie! I like this idea, the no. post wala šŸ˜€
Congratulations = 8 yrs is awesome! And we luv ur posts too! Really really do šŸ™‚

    1. Yay! I think there was some tag like this once upon a time, so inspired! Plus I did not want to do a love letter to my blog this time šŸ™‚
Danke girl! You know what I love more than your posts these days? The subjects they deal with !

  7. Congrats on 8 years of blogging! It’s like this blog has seen you grow up and seen most of the major changes in your life. It’s a great way to keep memories of your life.

Also, right now, just like you like balderdash, I love the word bizarre. I’m using it all the time!

    1. Thanks Ramya!
Oh ya, bizarre sounds nice. I have been using annoying a lot. Actually bizarre is a fun ‘spoken’ word too, I doubt I will use Balderdash that way. You know what, I am thinking of using the word in my blog’s name. Good idea.

    1. Thanks Ashwini! Just checked out your blog, and have to say, LOVELY photographs! Need to spend some more time out there šŸ™‚ Keep visiting!

  8. Hehe, It was thanks to The Dude, who could not afford to miss Tintin! šŸ˜€ That being said, that was it! Nothing after that šŸ˜¦
Meal at subway by yourself is a goood start! Keep going!
And correction, only ‘everyone’, not ‘everything’ šŸ˜

  9. 8 years ! wowiiieee.. thats awesome woman ! You are my new hero for managing to watch a movie when zoey was 2 months old.. I have managed to wrangle a 45 minute meal at a subway (all by myself !!!! yaaayyyy!!) in the last two months.. And I don’t even have count of the movies I’ve missed watching … 7g is an overly melodramatic movie, me thinks..Awww on Zo ignoring everything else when you are around..Wp doesnt allow commenting from blogger id, btw .. damn!

  10. Happy 8th Blog Anniversary to you!! Really liked the way you made it interesting by taking numbers & opening the suspense in the climax (like a good b’wood movie :))

Your point 6 made me realize that i don’t know my shoe no.!?!?!? i go to the shop, try random shoes & ask for the bigger size of the pair i liked…

Ohhh, and i can understand the missing movie part completely, i too don’t get many chances at that thanks to my 2 year old Zini…

    1. šŸ˜® Suspense in a Bollywood movie! Er, are you sure that’s a compliment ;)?
Thanks a lot šŸ™‚ You dont know yoru shoe size? There goes your chance of shopping online!
Man, so this no-movie phase goes on for long eh? I thought only till the baby is little šŸ˜¦

      1. Hehehe!!! yes i thought it was a compliment (one side effect of not watching movies for long means that you think every movie around is great!!!)
Anyways i can’t shop online as i don’t have a credit card, so only site where i do online shopping is Flipkart (cash on delivery) šŸ™‚
I think it’s better to watch as many movies as possible when the kiddo is still young and wants to sleep & eat.

        1. Sigh, I wish. Zo hates sleeping, the one thing I thought she should inherit from me was the love for sleep, but madame is not really keen on sleeping EVER. So no movies for me! I do have support at home, so I can technically sneak out once in a while šŸ™‚

          1. All the kids i know hates sleeping, they hate it even more when their parents try to sleep šŸ™„
it’s good to have support at home šŸ™‚

  11. Haha.. That was nice!!

Good to see you making time from Motherhood šŸ™‚

Should have tried to go beyond 8… Ah!!! Actually extend same till 15.

    A kinda Dare šŸ˜›

PS: Was seeing a comment about Zo hating sleeping.. Rudransh is also same ( am told).. He is turning out to be of the Midnight Generation šŸ™‚

    1. šŸ˜€ We try to, and the workplace aids in that šŸ˜‰
You know I was dared for a 25 when I was at 4, or 3, I think. Making it till 8 itself seems big. But unless something dramatic changes, I might actually make it to 25 šŸ˜‰
And well, babies are born to prove how much parents have to learn šŸ˜€ This is just the beginning, once you start having your midnight turn to feed and pat to sleep, you wouldn’t know it!

  12. Randomness at its best! Love your writing style.. šŸ™‚ I think your wit, randomness, and natural sense of humour is going to make sure u reach way beyond 8 years. Always fun to read your posts! šŸ™‚

  13. 8 years of blogging! Wow, DI. That is spectacular. Keep up the good work and keep giving us splendid stuff to read like you always do. šŸ™‚

  14. the sundae just melted in my mouth,oh well, imagination could be wild and with wide reach šŸ˜‰

lol @ proud mommy moment ends šŸ˜›

whaaaaat? 8 years? wow that’s impressive šŸ™‚ and with quality of posts only rising high…oh yes now you have Zo know? so obviously the posts will become interesting šŸ˜‰ lol

I love this word too ‘balderdash’ it has some substance I tell you šŸ™‚

Congratulations and keep writing, yours is one of those blogs I would never get fed up of reading, you know, the feeling you have for that harry potter thing? I’ve for your blog… šŸ˜€

    1. šŸ˜® Awwww! You’re a sweetheart Nu! See , this is what makes me come back and write again and again!
You know what I am talking about when it comes to Zo, don’t you? šŸ™‚
