Blogging again….

yup…. am blogging again. not that i had any intention of stopping, but past few days have been real work. Am finally ‘almost’ through my report. I mean, i still need to fit i the intro , the acknowledgement and all that, but the main things done ..:)… and the Hungama deals are almost finalised. Had to run around quite a bit for those today, but the fact that GP has gone to their office to sign the deals means that things have been fine.Really am looking forward to my 15 day break.

The weather in Gurgaon is damn unpredictable. Yesterday was an experience to remember. It had been raining pretty heavily right from 3 in the afternoon (which you aould know only if you actually checked your watch, considering it was almost as dark as 7 in the evening). So, finally me and king decided to make a move when there was temporary break in the rains for about half an hour. That probably was the stupidest decision we could have taken. And as soon as we reached the highway (from where we need to travel like 54 kms to reach home… and that too by a rick!), a practical storm started ( ok… i dunno whether thats the right word.. but there were heavy, reeeeeeally heavy rains and really strong howling winds) and there was no way we could move even a bit. So, we stood under a tree , with quite a few other victims of Gurgaons unpredictable weather, and got drenchedddd ( extra ds to emphasise that we were really very horribly soakeddd)… and on top that there was this horrible wind and we spent almost 10 – 15 minutes shivering there. Finally the rains seemed to relent and we searched for another rick ( surprisingly quite a few of them were available at double the rates though) and finally somehow reached home (or the pg or whatever)..

Anyways, there was powercut the entire night and an amazing storm to accompany it at around 2 in the night. Infact the huge 6 feet window in Ron n King’s appartment came off the wall.

Just have a few more days to go here, and then its back home (ya ya i know i have been going home pretty often, but this time i dont need to come back:)… and that obviously makes it special. Saw ‘Main hoon na'(finally) this weekend, and cant say liked it much. And thats a big thing considering i usually do like these Shahrukh khan – karan johar – yash chopra kinda movies ( except fr K3g). Like the songs , so those were a saving grace. Rest of it seemd to be a bit ‘crappy’ in fact. want to watch ‘yuva’ next, lets see….

Have been frequenting sidin’s blog these days, and boy…does he write well!!Some people just seem to have it in them, and seriosuly reading his blogs is an experience in itself…

Things seem to be going pretty fine till now and hope they carry on this way… Dont think have anything else to say right now…..till then
Ciao

Work…as usual…

Have been working at the final report since the morning. Need to be really fast as i want to go home tomorrow. Have a company visit at 5…and cant be late for that either. But problem is , GP is finally back….and its going to be really difficult to leave early infront of him…so lets see.

The most irritating thing here is the frequency of powercuts. every morning we wake sweat and hot, and 2 hours before our usual wake up hour. its specially irriataing as we (thts me n jas) dont really sleep early . And finally end up with around 5 to 6 hours of sleep wach day, which definitely is not enough keeping in view the day’s schedule.

Its finally just one more week to go. I know its going to be tough as everything needs to be finished fast, but i guess its worth it. My reports come to about 5 pages now, and i dunno how to proceed:P.

Am looking forward to the Delhi meet on 30th. I didn’t atend my own freshers last year, so dont want to miss anything this time. Its my friends b’day on the 31st , so hopefully that would be another day of fun for me. Its funny, but this time the visits home have been so short each time that i haven’t really taken pains to call up or meet all my friends. Obviously i did talk to a few who called, but I am so exhausted every weekend that all i do is laze. Guess , i need to put that right and contact them, especially because i will have just one week at home after summers.

Its fun to be free.. and though I am the same person who cribs when thers nothing to do, right now my state of mind is different.Anyone would like to be in a situation wherein theres no responsibility, no deadlines and no repurcussions of anything you do. Infact, looking back at my school days, those were probably the most fun times i had, there was hardly anything to worry about, other than the exams, and even those were not such a big deal. i bet i wouldn’t have accepted this when i was in school, but that how i feel now. Its sad theres no goign back once you are through a particular phase.

People seem to be busy with their reports as no one blogs regularly anymore. But since i decided i would i guess i will carry on. But abhi ke liye itna hi….
till then… ciao

Feeling Good ……

Hmmmm… so things aren’t as bad as i thought…. Not that anything special or unexpected happened today, but definitely todays been really calm as compared to yesterday. No, king is still not helping me make the bong calls…but i started my report :)…..finally….and the way its going shouldn’t be very tough for me to finish it:D.Hope GP finds it acceptable though.. Plus, i finally managed an appointment with a company guy tomorrow…So, guess things are certainly looking up(ok, probably not up, but they aren’t looking down either)..

I kinda miss Hyderabad today. Spoke to a few friends from there yesterday and really feel like going myself. If only our session dint start this early , there was a definite trip considering my cousins wedding is scheduled around 20th june. But unfortunately, I am missing that too.

Gurgaon has an awful number of power cuts each day, and these last longer than the time between two consecutive powercuts… so, what i finally mean to say is…we have powercuts for more than half the day… obviously you dont come to know of that in office , but once you r back in the pg …yuck!! And yet again, ours is the only room in the entire appartment which doesn’t have the invertor connected:((…..So, either we need to sit in the drawing room or rot in the heat.

Jas and I stayed up till 1 yesterday night just chatting , about K, and the year that passed…it was good fun…and then it was my usual session on the phone ( my friends think its funny to call people up at 1, when they have office at 9 the next day).So final result: I am damn sleepy….Thankfully, typing out the findings isn’t really as boring as calling up people, so I have managed to stay awake till now.

Today , whenevr i took breaks, i sat and read all the archives of the blogs of the K junta and that was good fun….it still is…prithesh, am going through yours right now!!!

Thats it for now i guess. should get back to finishing a bit more of the report, i really want it to be ready when GP comes from his vacation in ‘Far East'(thts what the HR lady said today)…Have to get out of this place before 30th….

till then
Ciao

work… and quite a lot of it…

Todays been extremely hectic, have been continuosly working since 9 45 when i reached office. not even the usual ‘blog breaks’ were possible. Anyways, had a loooong talk with GP yesterday, and he listed out quite a few jobs to be done by the time i leave. these include an additional survey of a sample 300 Mtv card users:(.
So am trying to find out the locations and contacts of the 300 ppl to be surveyed. plus i have been told to find out about ‘all’ colleges in the 15 airtel circles, and segregate them into posh, mediocre, and very simple categories, so that the new cards promotional strategies can be decided. plus i have also been told to contact a number of agencies to manage the cards visibility and then decide upon the most feasible one.and lastly my agency contacts for managing tieups for discounts…. oh god!! there actually is too much work to be done, and i have no clue how i am going todo all this in less than one months time. guess i will manage somehow.

ok, i just got to know of one interesting diversion i will be having. my cousin bro is in gurgaon, and he is coming in an hours time, so i will take a break and then get back to work i guess. unfortunately , he is not coming into the office, which would have probably helped me earn a few brownie points from my final evaluator, i.e. my guide and VP marketing, who happened to have been my cousins roomie for 2 years in their HLL days!! thw world is indeed verryy small…

finally finsshed callingup all the people who are going to send in the phone nos needed for the survey. the way i blog is funny. it goes on simultaneously with my work. the windows always open, and i keep adding in stuff from time to time.so when i started this blog, i had no work done, and right now, i have quite a bit. this is what i call regular updation.

i wonder if i will have the patience to continue blogging once i am out of here and back at the institute. i hope i dont stop blogging just becos i have messenger then…. i wont i guess, cos this has turned out to be more fun than i thought it would. infact i never thought i would and could write so much stuff.

anyways, i think i will stop now, as my cousins arrived and i need to go,
till then, ciao

Monday , and i am back to work. And its really sad after you have had 2 amazing days at home. i now realise how lucky i was to get gurgaon and not chennai , becos of which i have already spent 3 weekends at home. the next weekend seems to be a longer one, and i definitely have to get back home again. i have really gotten used to the journey back from home which is much more tiring considering theres no direct bus and i need to change about 3 buses, and this brings the total travel time to about 3.5 to 4 hours. anyways, i guess its worth it…

Ankits taken and off today and that left his comp free for me to use. so i had quite an oppurtunity to play games and music of my choice. but unfortunately, theres quite some work today, and i am sure GP will kill me if he sees me in the cabin(which he has, twice since the morning). and on my comp , the only thing i can do apart from work is check mails or blog. and the latter is the only choice i have since i have no more mails to check ( though i do try my luck every 15 minutes)

Went to the delhi circle this friday to collect some data. last time i had spent just a few minutes in the office, since i had to rush to meet the retailers, but this time i got a good idea about the whole place. that office is not only very posh, but also much better facilities in terms of refreshments. here, all we have is a Tea/ coffee dispenser and two jars which are usually filled with some namkeen. but that office!!! you have people bringing iced tea, coke, fruit juice and whatever you like every 15 minutes!!! and to think this is the corporate office… bharti ppl sure do have their priorities all wrong !!! guess i will suggest a few changes before i leave (he he!!)..

my life is so sad… i cant even blog peacefully, my comp is right next to the door outside which the coffee machine is, and GP has been standing there for the past half an hour, and i have to keep checking everytime anybody enters !anyways, i guess i will stop now.. GG, if you read this, see that your advice has been taken…
nyways, ciao

Really Clueless….

I have been sitting in the office since the morning and all i have managed to achieve till now is an appointment for friday. have to go home on saturday and thats when the guy wanted me to report but somehow managed to escape that and prepone the meet. its not actually a meeting. happen to need some information which i can get from delhi office only and the people there are too busy to send me that. so i am required to go there, spend the day without any haste( thats what the guy said) and mine all the data i need. i have no qualms now , since i know the way to okhla pretty well by now. so i actually have today and tomorrow withour much to do. yeaterday was fun with jasleen. we roamed about quite a bit and entered almost every possible shop.i and jasleen saw anamzing ‘pug’ puppy in the pet shop near our place , and it cost 25k!!! would love to have one of those though. had seen another ‘pekinese’ puppy earlier that day, and that was equally adorable…. i want a pup now!!!!guess i should sit and analyse the different breeds so that i can choose one for myself, once i can affors them:p… infact that seems to be agood enough idea for now… since i am majorly jobless…will write again once i am through my search… bbye

am back, spent half an hour searching for puppy breeds, and found avery good site. went through all the breeds whose names start with A, and found 4 suitable matches : Akita puppy, Alaskan malamute, American Eskimo , Australian shepherd. have to keep it for future reference. anyways, ciao (visit : http://www.puppydogweb.com/caninebreeds/)

My first personal blog

this is obviously not the first time i am blogging , but this is definitely my first personal blog, considering my older blogs were under the iimk username. but i realised it was not really possible for me to blog to the fullest on it, and i needed a private blog where i could fill in any amount of crap i wanted to. today it is 26 days since i joined office and on friday i would have completed one whole month… amazing , but true.

i have been given a major job of designing the retail strategy for the new card . it has to be done fast considering the launch is on the 15th. i gave the first cut today, but GP wants me to go into the details, and make it even more specific. shouldn’t be a problem , considering i have gotten a hang of the market, and the product by now. its fun deciding where all the card can be placed for sales, but its going to be a tough job deciding the volumes, commission etc. and thats what GP expects me to do.anyways, i couldn’t have gotten a better guide, and i will surely miss working with this team once i am out.

this one month has already been a big learning experience since it was my very first exposure to the corporate world. and my guide saw to it, that i had a taste of almost everything in it. i will be going home for this weekend. really looking fwd to it as i dint this time.

me and jasleen plan to hang around the malls n all this week, and have a better look into shops where King would have definitely not been interested in visiting. i am sure its going to be good fun. saw just one movie here till now. but since there is a long list of bollywood stuff releasing this week, hope to go for some of them atleast. i just cant seem to have enough of these hindi movies, however stereotyped they may seem to the rest!! i especially need to see ‘yuva’ nd ‘main hoon na’, and even ‘hum tum’.i seem to have some affinity towards these big banner movies ,inspite of several bitter experiences in the past with the likes of K3G and Kal ho na ho. guess ,i will never learn. hey it definitely is fun having my own blog, cos this way i am not forcing anyone to read the stuff others might find boring… anyway..

guess i will sign off for now.have a long day tomorrow, considering GP wants me to go to Okhla again :(…    Ciao
